Quinta do Crasto, Vintage Port
Luscious flavours of conserved black fruits coating tannic substance. True vintage port.
If you like visiting vineyards then the Douro is a must. Quinta do Crasto is situated on a hill dramatically set overlooking the river some 300 meters below. The estate derives its name from the Roman Crastum meaning fortified hilltop. The Roquette family make excellent Port as well as great red wines from Port grape varieties. The 2009 was a very good year for both, Port making wines of excellent concentration. Delicious while young this will continue to develop and mature over the next decade.
