Domaine la Roche, Costières de Nîmes
Oak-free and joyously juicy, a soft, satisfying, cherry-scented southern Rhône blend of Grenache and Syrah.
Oak-free and joyously juicy, a soft, cherry-scented southern Rhône blend of Grenache and Syrah. The bureaucrats previously struggled with the 'Costières de Nîmes' (between Provence and Montpellier) but finally attached it to the Rhône because the area is cut in half by an arm of the river's estuary. With their handful of successful properties, Jacqueline and Fanny Boyer have overcome the perception of the Costières as a 'junior' appellation relative to its northern neighbours.
