Primitivo Polvanera 14, Gioia del Colle, Puglia

Intense damson fruit with powerful structure to complement the juicyness.

Filippo Cassano and various family members started their journey to create fantastic wines from the Primitivo grape in 2003. They based themselves in a remote region of Puglia, Gioia del Colle, and renovated an old farmhouse. The Polvanera (derived from the dark brown soils surrounding the farmhouse) is a powerfully structured wine. Concentrated damson jam fruit with silky yet explosive mouthful and a prolonged finish.

A Great red 31 December 2011

This is one of the newer Primitivo wines that are coming out of Puglia. Its a great mouthful of Italian sunshine, very clean and veryyy long. Try with roast meats or strong cheese. Enjoy
