Carignan 'Franc Tireur', Domaine Reveille

Vibrant red fruit flavours, rich, wild and concentrated.

I was strongly reminded of the force of character that this region attracts when I met France Crispeel and tasted her vibrant Carignan. A love of good wine and a bizarre urge to have a go drove her to leave her native Belgium and move south to the Agly valley in the Roussillon region. Her most cherished and precious assets are her ancient vines of Carignan of which a fair proportion are 100-years-old. Organically farmed, they produce a wine of intense character, a bit like France herself.
