Grangiovese, IGT, Castello di Argiano, Sesti
A wonderful mouthful of lively red fruits with grown-up structure.
Giuseppe Sesti is an academic with a particular passion for the effects of the moon on agriculture (he has published four books on the subject) and took on the Argiano estate in 1975. The estate consists of 254 acres of land of which only eight are given over to the growing of grape vines. The rest is olive groves, pasture and woodland. The vineyards, however, are some of the best-sited in the region, being on the southern slopes of Montalcino where the most prized Brunello comes from.

Great Sangiovese
I've had a few bottles of this Italian Red.
I found it to be an approachable and easy drinking red wine.
Great stuff from the Sesti's

Great Value
I always tell friends that this is baby Brunello which I suppose it isn't but its a really approachable wine at a keen price.
Adnams Tuscan Red, La Cappella, IGT Toscana
A good dollop of Merlot adds body to the lively red fruit flavours of Sangiovese.
Morellino di Scansano, Serpaia, Maremma, Endrizzi
Aromas of tar and roses, bramble fruit flavours and bittersweet finish. Delicious with grilled herby lamb.
