Morellino di Scansano, Serpaia, Maremma, Endrizzi
Read ReviewsAromas of tar and roses, bramble fruit flavours and bittersweet finish. Delicious with grilled herby lamb.
Subjects of the Austro-Hungarian empire, the Endrici (Endrizzi in local dialect) family arrived in northern Italy in 1885 and established a formidable estate at the foot of the Dolomites. More recently, the Endrizzis descended from lofty Trentino to purchase Tuscan estate Serpaia. Application of biodynamic techniques has resulted in impressive wines like this. Great Wine

Medium bright ruby colour, slight orangle hints at rim - more nebbiolo than sangiovese in colour. Grreat nose of cherries, raspberries, embers. Palate of the same plus tar, licorice caramel with a long bitter-sweet finish. Unmistakably Italian. Lovely wine.
