Pinot Blanc, Cave de Pfaffenheim
Wines such as this lavishly fruity, apple-scented white often win this co-op the title 'Best in France'.
Plump and soft, yet crisply fruity, with ripe apple and pear aromas, a textbook Alsace Pinot Blanc that's almost as much of a mouthful as its source: 'The Cave Vinicole de Pfaffenheim and Guberschwihr'. Not the most marketable name, but wines from this ultra-reliable co-op (often 'Best in France') are sought- after worldwide. The place is supplied by contented, well-paid vignerons, many of whom own Grand Cru vineyards. They'd doubtless drink this lovely white with river fish or quiche.

Pinot Blanc, Prieler, Neusiedlersee-Hugelland
A lovely minerally edge to this, as high and rich in extract with elegant, balancing acidity.
Gentil de Pfaff, Cave de Pfaffenheim
From the often lauded 'Best Co-op in France'.
