Chenin Blanc, The Lion Hunt, Seidelberg Estate, Paarl
Rounded grapey fruit with an enlivening hint of citrus.
This idyllic estate, founded in 1680, on the southern slopes of the Paarlberg, is owned by German émigré Roland Seidel. Ripe, voluptuous, appley fruit and a zingy citrus finish. At its best with river fish or goat cheeses.
Chenin Blanc, Phambili, Wellington (Fairtrade)
Lively and fresh but with a full flavour.
