£23.99 (Was: £28.99)
Made from Rye grown by Jonathan Adnams at his farm in Reydon on the Suffolk coast. Refreshing gin with matcha tea and lemongrass.
As the sun rises above the North Sea the rye growing in Jonathan's fields is amongst the first to enjoy the early morning rays, helping it ripen to perfection. We've added Japanese matcha tea and lemongrass as well as a special blend of botanicals to create this refreshing gin. Proudly made by Adnams in Southwold.

A Refreshing Change | 22 May 2017
I first tried Rising Sun last summer and I have just bought some more - with First Rate and Copper House in the interval. It makes a refreshing change from all the standard London style gins but I can imagine it is not to everyone's taste. It is five stars for me, but it may not be for you.

OMG.. so different! | 15 August 2017
The rye REALLY gives a different taste. I first had it straight with tonic and wasn't sure..... BUT as suggested - add a slither of fresh ginger and lime peel and WOW - it is amazing!!!!

A totally new experience | 2 January 2018
This gin is totally different and I love it! Adnams have done well with their experimentation and should be super proud of this! Definitely a summer gin.

Stick with Copper House and First Rate | 25 December 2016
I know Adnams know how to make good gin. Really good gin. Copper House is a personal favourite. So naturally when I heard about Rising Sun I was intrigued, but upon the first taste I was utterly let down. This is without a doubt the most unpleasant gin I have tried. Not so much matcha and lemongrass as propanone and sourdough starter gone bad. Avoid at all costs, it's utterly foul.

My new favourite... | 29 November 2016
I absolutely love this gin! My husband and I are East Anglians living in exile in the Isle of Man, and spend a week or so every year in Southwold. I have been visiting the town for nearly 50 years, since I was a tiny child (in fact, my parents have a plaque on the pier commemorating years and years of loving the place). We love all things Adnams and are huge fans of Copper House (especially when served in the back bar of The Crown, with a twist of orange in it, in a tall Adnams spirit glass!) so we thought we would try Rising Sun. We love the aromatics that come through from the matcha and lemongrass: it's lovely with Fever-tree light, and probably would work nicely with their Mediterranean tonic too. Just lovely - and our Friday night treat at the end of a long, hard week. For one brief shining moment Adnams started delivering to the Isle of Man, but that has stopped again (SADNESS!). I am such a fan that I still get it delivered to a friend's house in Liverpool, and she brings it across on the ferry when she comes for visits! That's the mark of a true fan, let me tell you ;-) Please, please Adnams - find another courier and I will order a bottle a month!!

Had the pleasure of trying this at the Red Lion in Southwold last night. One of the nicest gins I have tasted to date. Will definitely be buying a bottle when I next visit!
